They never tell you in training camp how this experience will change you. Its not the same as traveling or just experienceing another culture – it is sharing the love of your life, your reason for life, your soul, with people whose faces become intertwined in your memory. They never tell you how you will refer to your life as pre-Peru, post-Peru. Or how, when you step into the airport to return home, your sense of the world changes. Your sense of self has long changed. You see things, everything, differently.
God’s will is overwhelming. I can’t fight it, even though for while I tried. I put off applying, thinking instead maybe I could be a normal kid and just go to college. But God didn’t call us to be normal.
“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness and into his wonderful light.” (1 Peter 9)
I want to live a life of worship to my God who called me out of darkness and into a life of joy and abundance. God has given me a peace about Nicaragua. He will provide for me before the trip and when I come home. I am unbelievably excited. And a little scared. It is going to be a crazy journey. Nicaragua estoy viniendo! Please pray for me 😀
