So, what do I expect as I step forward? Honestly, I have learned never to have set expectations in life because things will never work out as planned. But as I have grown closer to God, he has shown me that I can trust in him to provide for me, and here are some things I do expect from FYM Nicaragua.
I expect a loving team grounded in Christ. I know no one is perfect, but I expect to be surrounded by people actively seeking God and his guidance in their lives. I expect sincerity. I expect to be a part of a community striving to worship God through our lives. I mean, God has handpicked us after all.
I expect prayer, lots of prayer. Prayer together with my teammates, prayer just between me and God, and prayer for me from all of my supporters back home. And I expect encouragement to actually follow God’s answers to my prayers.
I expect God’s protection as I step into a land very foreign to me.
I expect lots of letters and prayers from home 🙂
I expect to see God work miracles. I expect to feel that adrenaline when you feel God speaking through you even though seconds before you were too scared to speak.
I expect to make friends that will last me a very long time. Maybe they will help me learn more Spanish 😀
I expect to be missed when I leave.
